In Guinea, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has raised concern over the government’s decision to dissolve 40 political parties, including key opposition groups.
In a letter dated March 19, the UN rights office addressed Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah, urging authorities to uphold legal and democratic principles.
The organisation stressed the importance of respecting political freedoms, particularly as the country prepares for upcoming elections.
The development has heightened attention on governance and democratic processes in Guinea.
