In Guinea, opposition political parties are urging a postponement of the presidential election scheduled for December 28, 2025.
They argue that key inconsistencies exist between the electoral code and the constitution, citing Article 248, which restricts sponsorship for independent candidates.
The parties contend that delaying the election would open the door for broader and more inclusive consultations.
According to them, only a revised timeline can guarantee a fair, transparent, and equitable electoral process for all stakeholders.
