In Guinea, the national association of lawyers has suspended its three-week-long strike, which had seen legal professionals boycott courts and tribunals across the country.

The strike was prompted by the abduction of one of their colleagues, sparking outrage within the legal community.

The decision to suspend the action came during an Extraordinary General Assembly held on Wednesday by the Guinean Bar Association, following days of internal deliberations and negotiations with top government officials.
