Judicial authorities in Guinea have launched a probe into the alleged presence of rebels disguised as mentally ill persons in the southeastern city of N’Zérékoré.

The prosecutor’s office at the Court of First Instance confirmed on Monday that two individuals have been arrested and transferred to a hospital in Conakry for psychiatric evaluation.

The investigation aims to clarify growing concerns in the region amid fears of insecurity and infiltration.
