A delegation from the International Criminal Court (ICC), led by Deputy Prosecutor General Mame Mandiaye Niang, is in Guinea to discuss the appeals process for the September 28, 2009 massacre. The team met with Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah in Conakry.
The ICC mission aims to ensure that the appeals proceedings maintain the same rigor and transparency as the initial trial, upholding justice for victims of the massacre.
Officials emphasized the importance of close collaboration between national authorities and the ICC to guarantee a fair and credible judicial process.
The visit underscores Guinea’s ongoing commitment to accountability and the international community’s role in supporting the country’s justice system.
