In Guinea, the family of missing journalist Habib Marouane Camara is renewing calls for clarity one year after his disappearance on December 3, 2024.
At a press conference on Wednesday, his wife, Mariama Lamarana Barry, voiced her growing anguish, questioning her husband’s condition — or whether he is even still alive.
She appealed to Guinean authorities to provide any information that could shed light on his fate, stressing that the prolonged silence has deepened the family’s pain.
The case has become a troubling reminder of the risks faced by media professionals and the urgent need for accountability in cases of enforced disappearances.
