In Guinea, former transitional president General Sékouba Konaté has petitioned the International Criminal Court (ICC) to reopen the investigation into the September 28, 2009 massacre.

Konaté argues that the Guinean judiciary failed to deliver justice, claiming that the national trial process was flawed and politically influenced.

He accuses former junta leader Captain Moussa Dadis Camara of being the primary architect and sponsor of the deadly crackdown.

The 2009 massacre, which occurred during a pro-democracy rally in Conakry, left over 150 people dead and hundreds injured, drawing widespread international condemnation.
