In Guinea, the General Directorate of Elections (DGE) has initiated talks with political parties and civil society groups in preparation for the upcoming constitutional referendum set for September 21, 2025.
During a key meeting on Wednesday, the DGE announced the formation of an Inter-Party Committee—a platform designed to facilitate technical consultations and inclusive dialogue throughout the electoral process.
While many political actors welcomed the initiative as a step toward transparency, some parties boycotted the gathering, accusing the government of rushing the process without adequate consultation.
The move marks a critical moment in Guinea’s political calendar, with the referendum expected to shape the country’s future governance.
