In Guinea, the death toll from the tragic stampede at N’zérékoré stadium two weeks ago has been revised to 150 by a coalition of human rights NGOs in the region.
This new figure contests the government’s earlier reports, which initially cited 56 fatalities before later revising it to 135.
The NGOs continue to urge authorities for transparency and accountability in addressing the disaster, which remains one of the deadliest in recent memory.
