Guinea is confronting a new demographic reality following the release of preliminary results from its fourth General Population and Housing Census.
The figures were presented on Wednesday, February 26, 2026, in Conakry.
According to official data, the country’s population now stands at 17,521,167 inhabitants.
Authorities say the updated statistics will serve as a vital tool for guiding public policy, development planning, and resource allocation nationwide.
