Guinea-Bissau’s Higher Military Court has sentenced 14 soldiers for their role in the failed coup attempt of February 1, 2022.
Three received 29-year prison terms, eight were sentenced to 24 years, and three to 12 years. All convicted soldiers were dismissed from the armed forces.
The ruling comes three years after the attempted coup against President Umaro Sissoco Embaló, which was thwarted by loyalist forces and international support.
