In Ghana, the strike by Registered Nurses’ & Midwives’ Association across the country is having a toll on patient lives.
Though, government has express commitment for engagement, the nurses remain resolute in their demands for improve better conditions of service.
Already the sector minster, Kwabena Minta Akandor in a press conference revealed that the conditions of service in question were not included in the 2025 national budget, hence, implementing these demands immediately, could destabilise the economy and reverse recent fiscal gains.
The minster also appealed to retired nurses and midwives to volunteer their services amid the ongoing nurses’ strike.
However, our guest, the President of the Ghana Registered Nurses’ & Midwives’ Association (GRNMA) Perpetual Ofori- Ampofo believes the new move by the government will not solve the problem.
