The Cybercrime Bill 2023 seeks to enhance substantial provisions regarding Cybercrime and establish procedural measures for obtaining electronic evidence and international cooperation for an effective fight against cybercrime.
However, CSO and human rights defenders have raised concerns and argued that the bill, in its current form, poses a serious threat to freedom of expression and press freedom in the country.
