The Central Bank of the Gambia has revealed that Remittances sent home by Gambians living abroad continue to rise, reaching more than eight hundred and seventy-two million US dollars last year.
The funds have become a major source of support for households and a key pillar of the national economy.
There are increasing calls for the government to put in place clear mechanisms to better streamline diaspora remittances, ensuring they support critical sectors such as health, education, and particularly tourism.
