In Ghana, where sexual corruption has emerged as a pervasive issue affecting both the public and private sectors.
A 2022 survey by the Centre for Social Justice, alongside data from the Ghana Statistical Service, indicates that over 40% of women in the public sector have either experienced or witnessed sexual harassment or coercion.
Despite the challenges, there are practical steps we can take to tackle sexual corruption effectively.
Public education campaigns are essential to demystify and destigmatize sexual corruption. Awareness initiatives can empower victims to speak out and demand change.
Aurelia Ayisi (PhD), a lecturer and researcher at the Department of Communications at the University of Ghana has been shedding light on the subject.
