Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has called for stronger investment in agriculture to address the ongoing crisis in the central Sahel region.
Speaking at the Sahel Governance Forum in The Gambia, Jonathan highlighted agriculture as key to solving food insecurity and promoting peace and economic growth.
He urged governments and development partners to support farmers with modern tools and rural infrastructure to boost productivity.
Jonathan, now leading his foundation, said the region’s stability depends on turning agriculture into a reliable engine for development and resilience.
