Flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has unveiled a plan to create a more business-friendly environment and tackle unemployment if elected in 2024.

Speaking at the launch of the NPP’s 2024 manifesto in Takoradi, Dr. Bawumia emphasized his commitment to supporting and expanding businesses, particularly in the private sector. Key initiatives include offering Investment Tax Credits to Ghanaian start-ups, introducing a Flat Rate for importers to stabilize pricing, and harmonizing port charges to compete with regional neighbors like Togo.

Dr. Bawumia acknowledged the economic challenges Ghana has faced in recent years, noting that inflation, which once soared above 50%, has now dropped to around 20%. He assured Ghanaians that the economy is on a path to recovery
