The Minority in Ghana’s parliament has urged the government to, as a matter of urgency, respond to the grievances of the Medical Laboratory Professional Workers’ Union (MELPWU) which has laid down its tools in demand for better conditions of service.
The Union has been negotiating with the government for the past two years but with no success, forcing its members to go on strike on Monday, 17 June 2024, as a way of mounting pressure on the government to conclude the negotiations.
