Ghana’s Health Minister, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has appealed to retired nurses and midwives to return temporarily to help manage the impact of the ongoing nationwide strike.
The strike, led by the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), has severely disrupted healthcare services across the country.
Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday, the minister assured the public of government’s commitment to resolving the impasse through continued dialogue.
He emphasized that the involvement of retired health workers is a short-term measure to sustain critical care while talks continue.
