Ghana’s Attorney-General has officially charged former National Service Authority (NSA) Executive Director Osei Assibey Antwi and his deputy Gifty Oware-Mensah with theft, money laundering, and causing financial loss to the state.
Prosecutors describe the case as one of the largest corruption scandals in recent years, involving the alleged diversion of state funds through ghost names on the payroll.
The two former officials are accused of manipulating the service’s payment systems to siphon millions meant for national service personnel.
Authorities say the charges mark a significant step in Ghana’s anti-corruption drive and efforts to restore public trust in public institutions.
