Ghana’s parliament has finally approved a $250 million facility between the government of Ghana and the International Development Association, IDA, of the World Bank, for the Energy Sector Recovery Programme.
The facility was a subject of controversy during the last meeting of Parliament, with the minority in parliament rejecting its approval after raising an issue over an amount of $94 million allocated for consultancy services.
The loan agreement is part of the reasons the majority triggered an emergency recall of parliament under article 112(3).
