Ghana’s population has surpassed 33 million and is projected to reach 52.47 million by 2050, according to the latest figures from the Ghana Statistical Service.
The report, titled “Population Projections 2021 – 2050,” is based on data from the 2021 Population and Housing Census and historical sources.
It forecasts a steady increase over the next decade, with the population hitting 33 million by 2024 and surpassing 44.7 million by 2040.
However, the projected growth rates indicate a decrease in the population growth rate over the next 25 years.
