Economist and lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School, Prof Lord Mensah has criticized the excessive politicization of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), the entity that manages pensions of workers in the country.
According to him the situation has culminated in the mismanagement of the trust.
His comments come in the wake of the Trust to sell 60% – its majority stake- in four hotels to Minister of Agriculture and MP for Abetifi, Bryan Acheampong’s Rock City Hotel Limited.
Prof Lord Mensah argues the failure to appoint persons with the requisite expertise in the field, is costing contributors of SSNIT.
