West African countries have been encouraged to embrace international and regional cooperation to improve migration management in the sub-region.
Analysts in the field argue that we live in an era of unprecedented human mobility, one that neither the current global economic downturn nor restrictive security measures can impede.
They contend that the root causes of migration are numerous and complex, including high population growth compared to available jobs.
Hence, there is a need for collaboration to address these challenges and maximize the positives of migration.
