Ghana’s Electoral Commission began its Special Voting exercise today, allowing media personnel, security forces, and election officials to vote early ahead of the December 7 general elections. However, voters in the Western and Eastern Regions will cast their ballots on December 5 due to a ballot paper leakage incident.
The EC Chairperson, Jean Mensa, announced the postponement during a press briefing on Sunday, citing the need to recall and reprint the leaked ballots. Despite this setback, 131,478 eligible voters across other regions are expected to participate in today’s exercise.
