In Ghana, Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has proposed the introduction of official leave for Members of Parliament, citing the intense workload and its toll on lawmakers’ personal and family lives.
He made the suggestion on Tuesday as Parliament reconvened for the Third Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament.
Speaker Bagbin also renewed calls for the construction of a larger parliamentary chamber to accommodate the growing number of legislators, emphasizing the need for improved working conditions to enhance parliamentary efficiency.
