Researchers in Ghana, are pushing for a slowdown in media frequency authorization expressing concerns about the over-saturation of the media space.
Ghana currently has over 700 radio stations and over 200 TV stations that have been granted frequencies the highest in sub-Saharan Africa.
The researchers say the high number of media outlets is causing significant challenges for their viability and long-term existence warning it could greatly affect the effectiveness and overall well-being of the media in the country.
