Ghana’s Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation and Prevention Bureau has revealed that a sudden and powerful downdraft led to the military helicopter crash that claimed eight lives.
Presenting the final report on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, investigator and retired pilot Captain Paul Forjoe said the incident was triggered by rapidly changing weather and unstable air over elevated terrain.
The findings mark the conclusion of the technical phase of the inquiry and provide critical insights for improving aviation safety protocols in Ghana.
