Ghana: Parliament reconvenes after December elections

Ghana’s National Assembly resumed sitting today, its first session following the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections.

The elections have resulted in a significant shift in parliamentary dynamics, with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) securing an overwhelming majority. The new Parliament is scheduled to be inaugurated on January 6, 2025, setting the stage for the NDC to play a pivotal role in legislative affairs.
