In Ghana, the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has suspended its planned industrial action following productive talks with the government on Monday, July 15, 2025.
The GRNMA says government commitments—especially the pledge to include fuel allowances in the upcoming mid-year budget review—offer enough grounds to continue dialogue.
GRNMA President, Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo, expressed cautious optimism, noting that while concerns over conditions of service remain, the association is encouraged by progress made during negotiations with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission and the Ministry of Finance.
