The Majority Caucus of the governing National Democratic Congress in Ghana’s Parliament is demanding the immediate cancellation of the party’s recent parliamentary primaries in the Ayawaso East constituency.
The lawmakers cite allegations of widespread vote buying and inducement, urging party executives to annul the contest and organise a fresh primary.
They are also calling for strict sanctions against any aspirant found culpable, as both party and state authorities launch parallel investigations into the controversy.
According to the caucus, failure to address the allegations could undermine the credibility of the party’s internal democratic processes and weaken public confidence.
