President John Mahama has unveiled a groundbreaking initiative offering free tertiary education for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Ghana.
The program, launched over the weekend, will be implemented through a revamped and digitalized Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) to enhance transparency, efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
According to President Mahama, the initiative represents a major stride toward equality and inclusion within the country’s education system.
He further announced that the former National Scholarship Authority’s disability scholarships will be integrated into a new Universal Disability Scholarship Scheme, ensuring streamlined access for all eligible students.
