Ghana’s Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has highlighted the devastating impact of illegal mining, or galamsey, on the nation’s environment.
Addressing Parliament, he warned that illegal miners are using more sophisticated methods, worsening the destruction of lands, water bodies, and natural resources.
Despite these challenges, the minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eradicating illegal mining and protecting the country’s natural resources.
