Ghana and India have deepened bilateral ties with the signing of multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in key sectors including health, trade, and culture. The agreements were formalized during the official visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Accra.

At a joint press briefing on Wednesday, President John Mahama revealed that further agreements are underway, covering vaccine manufacturing, agricultural equipment supply, and defense cooperation.

Modi’s visit — the first by an Indian Prime Minister to Ghana in over 30 years — was marked by a ceremonial honor, as he received one of the country’s highest national awards from President Mahama.

The visit signals renewed commitment to South-South cooperation and lays the groundwork for stronger economic and strategic partnerships between the two nations.
