Ghana Health Service (GHS) has ramped up surveillance at all entry points following the confirmation of four Mpox cases nationwide. Authorities say the move is aimed at preventing further spread of the virus.
Two new cases—one in Greater Accra and another in the Western Region—were confirmed on May 18, 2025, bringing the total number to four. All patients are receiving care under strict medical supervision.
Deputy Director of GHS, Dr. Caroline Rendorf Amissah, told WADR that officials at airports and land borders have been placed on high alert to improve screening and early detection.
The GHS is urging the public to observe hygiene protocols and report any symptoms to nearby health centers promptly.
