A driver transporting some students of a senior high school in the Upper East Region met his untimely demise when gunmen attacked them.

According to reports, the gunmen forced the students out of the vehicle and proceeded to burn the vehicle while the driver was still inside.

The report indicated that the incident occurred in front of the Bawku SHS around 1:30 p.m. while the students were traveling from Widana.

It was noted that the attack is likely connected to the renewed chieftaincy dispute in Bawku.
