The government has announced a 45 percent increase in the producer price of cocoa for the 2024/2025 crop season.

The price of a 64-kilogramme bag of cocoa beans will rise from GH¢1,308 to GH¢3,000.

According to Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, this marks a cumulative increase of 129.6 percent for the season.

He also revealed that COCOBOD is targeting 650,000 metric tonnes of cocoa production, with measures in place to boost yields despite challenges posed by El Nino weather conditions.
