A former assembly member and 11 Persons were sentenced to life imprisonment for their roles in the lynching of a soldier in Ghana seven years ago.
The High Court in Accra handed down life sentences to William Baah, the then Assemblyman of Denkyira-Obuasi, and 11 others after they were found guilty of their respective roles in the lynching of the late military officer, Major Maxwell Mahama.
This verdict comes nearly seven years after Maxwell Mahama, posthumously promoted to the rank of major, was lynched by an enraged mob at Denkyira Obuase in the Central Region while on official duty as detachment commander.
