Over 10,000 illegal settlers have been removed from the Subri Forest Reserve in Ghana’s Western Region.

Authorities say the forest had become a lawless zone under the control of a heavily armed gang known as the Budos.

The group allegedly extorted payments from anyone seeking access, threatening conservation efforts and public safety.

Officials say the operation is part of efforts to reclaim protected lands and restore order.
