Ghana has imposed a 2 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew in Bawku, Nalerigu, and nearby communities following a deadly wave of violence that killed three students.

The new measure, effective July 27, 2025, comes with heightened military deployment and emergency evacuations of students from high-risk areas in the Upper East and North East Regions.

Authorities say the situation remains tense, with curfews aimed at curbing further escalation and protecting civilians.

The government is urging calm while investigations continue into the attacks that triggered the latest unrest.
