Ghana’s Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has assured the public that the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results will be released by December 29, 2024.
Speaking to the media during a working visit to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) office, Dr. Adutwum emphasized that WAEC is committed to working through the festive period to expedite the release of results for the approximately 460,000 students who sat for the exams.
This assurance comes after WAEC reported delays in processing this year’s results due to funding constraints and logistical challenges. The government reportedly owes WAEC over GH¢100 million, a debt that has hindered the institution’s operational capacity.
Dr. Adutwum noted that half of the results have already been scanned, with the remaining portion expected to be completed swiftly, ensuring timely delivery despite the challenges.
