Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister-designate, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has defended President Mahama’s diplomatic approach to the Sahel crisis, emphasizing Ghana’s commitment to regional stability.
Speaking before Parliament’s appointment committee, Ablakwa stated that the administration’s strategy aligns with national interests and the goal of sustaining regional integration.
Despite Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger’s recent exit from ECOWAS, he assured that Ghana remains committed to keeping diplomatic channels open with its Sahelian neighbors.
Officials believe sustained dialogue is key to preserving cooperation and addressing security and economic challenges in the region.
