In Ghana, the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, has congratulated Muslims on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, urging reflection, discipline, and unity across society.
In a message issued on March 19, he called on Muslims to ensure that celebrations remain within the bounds of decency, modesty, and the law, stressing that Eid should go beyond festivity to reflect the spiritual lessons of Ramadan.
He noted that the essence of fasting is to attain piety, which must be evident in daily conduct and behaviour aligned with societal norms and national laws, adding that the spiritual cleansing of Ramadan must lead to meaningful change.
The Chief Imam also urged citizens of all faiths to uphold patriotism, humanitarianism, and collective responsibility, while offering prayers for global justice, peace in the Middle East, stability across Africa, and continued prosperity for Ghana and the region.
