The government of Ghana has announced the immediate ban on the export of key grains, including maize, rice, and soybean due to an ongoing dry spell that has devastated agricultural production in eight regions.
At a press conference in Accra on Monday, addressed by the Minister of Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong; the Minister of Finance Dr. Amin Adam; and the Minister of Defence, Dominic Nitiwul; the government indicated that the latest measure announced is to ensure food security within the country.
