Ghana and Burkina Faso have taken a major step toward easing cross-border communication with a new roaming agreement aimed at lowering call and data costs for travellers. The pact was finalized in Ouagadougou during Burkina Faso’s Digital Week, where Ghana served as Guest of Honour.
The agreement is expected to make communication more affordable and seamless for citizens of both countries, especially traders, transport operators, and frequent travellers who regularly move across the northern corridor.
Officials say the initiative reflects a broader commitment to digital cooperation and regional integration, strengthening long-standing ties between the two neighbours.
The deal also aligns with ECOWAS efforts to advance cross-border digital services, reinforcing collaboration in technology and connectivity across West Africa.
