Authorities in The Gambia have claimed that 90% of cannabis drugs in the country are produced in the Senegalese region of Casamance, with the greater percentage being transferred to the northern part of Senegal.
They have expressed worry over the increasing rate of substance abuse, which they are linking to a surge in crime.
Meanwhile, the authorities have sounded the alarm on the emerging new ecstasy drug, Kush, imported from Sierra Leone.
