The Gambia’s National Assembly has unveiled an extensive legislative agenda ahead of the First Ordinary Session of the 2026 Legislative Year, signaling what it describes as a stronger commitment to transparency and reform.
For the first time, lawmakers formally briefed the media before the session, outlining priority bills spanning national security reforms, climate change, investment, and regulatory modernization.
The session, scheduled from March 2 to April 1, is expected to consider amendments to the National Security Council Act alongside proposed legislation focused on environmental protection and economic growth.
