In The Gambia, Members of the National Assembly have strongly condemned the forceful removal of Auditor General Modou Ceesay from office.

They described the executive’s action as unconstitutional and politically motivated, raising concerns about the independence of oversight institutions.

The lawmakers urged President Adama Barrow to reconsider his decision and called for the immediate reinstatement of Ceesay.
