The Gambian government has launched the second phase of its border management reform programme, marking a major step in strengthening border security and institutional accountability.
The initiative is supported by Switzerland and implemented in partnership with the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance.
It focuses on a people-centred and human rights-based approach to border management, placing protection, dignity, and accountability at the core of security operations.
Authorities say the programme is designed to build stronger institutions, improve governance, and ensure safer, more effective border control systems across the country.
