The Gambia has begun a nationwide survey to capture citizens’ views on the most pressing issues shaping the country’s political and economic future. The initiative is led by the Centre for Policy, Research and Strategic Studies (CepRass) with support from the National Endowment for Democracy.

After completing two days of training and a pilot field exercise, teams of enumerators have been deployed across all regions to conduct the Issue-Based Opinion Poll. The goal is to gather accurate, community-level insights that reflect the everyday experiences of Gambians.

The survey focuses on key thematic areas, including the economy, governance, elections, security, accountability, public services, and the role of the media. These categories mirror the concerns that continue to dominate national conversations and public expectations.

CepRass says the findings will offer policymakers, civil society, and development partners credible data to guide decision-making. As the country navigates upcoming reforms and socio-economic challenges, the poll aims to strengthen evidence-based dialogue and improve responsiveness to citizens’ needs.
